Situation
A multi-province manufacturing and distribution company was losing its internal IT person. This person split time between Syspro administration and IT support. Solution
The team at Southampton ran a network scan to analyze and evaluate their network to determine if any weaknesses existed in their network. Next, we did an inventory / asset review to determine the age and condition of all their IT equipment. From this review, we created a forecasted cycling plan that would allow them to budget their IT costs into the future.
From these scans, we also identified short, medium and long-term IT projects that would need to be undertaken to make sure their IT infrastructure was efficient, current and secure.
Ultimately, a long-term partnership through a Managed Service Agreement for IT support and services made the most sense for this organization.
Results
The Managed Service Agreement eliminated the need for an internal IT person and provided increased response times and coverage through a team of IT technicians. Southampton supported all of their locations across the Atlantic provinces through asset lifecycle planning, budget forecasting, new location setups and ongoing help-desk support.
“The service and response we received was always prompt and professional. I want to thank you and all your staff for making it a smooth transition. To be honest, we had our doubts when moving from our own IT personnel but looking back it certainly was the best decision we could have made – due to the excellent service we received."
